Let's examine the evidence:

Google is valued at 135 billion (market capitalization). It has 4.3 billion in annual earnings (trailing twelve months). Its reach is worldwide. I use it dozens of times per day. It offers a range of services and is constantly innovating.

The Mafia is an organization of petty crooks. Even the top bosses only have a net worth of a few tens of millions, so we can assume that the Mafia's yearly earnings are pathetic compared to Google's. The Mafia's main contribution to society has been to inspire some decent movies, and to make fat Italian men feel tough.

All in all it's pretty clear that the Mafia is only a small, unimportant division in Google's corporate hierarchy.

I wouldn't call them our overlords yet, as I stated in another thread bing has certain advantages over google. Advantages that rank high in importance amongst internet users.

consider the evidence - what do we know of the "venture capitalists" who were invested in google prior to the IPO? what do we know of these two so-called "founders"? especially the Russian one. How can one not see the obvious ex-KGB/mob connections.

Bing has a lot of advantages over google, but not enough. It is a lot easier to search for specialty porn (e.g. gay porn) using a site like google because it just hits you with more links, whereas Bing tries to guess what you're into and ends up getting it wrong 9 times out of 10.
