Now you've linked to this article about the 'Buy American' outrage, which actually has **** all to do with Obama.
That **** was passed by the US Congress. And in fact, Obama has expressed his displeasure with it:
U.S. President Barack Obama's administration is hinting that it may push Congress to reconsider its controversial "Buy American" clause in its $819-billion financial stimulus package.
"The administration will review that particular provision and will make a determination of it," White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters in Washington on Friday.
The provision, which has quickly become known as the "Buy American" rule, would require all public works projects funded by the stimulus package to use only U.S.-made iron and steel. It is part of an economic stimulus package currently before the U.S. Congress and approved by the House of Representatives on Wednesday.
**** off from the thread unless you wish to treat the other people posting here with a modicum of respect. This Ben Kenobi-esque act of intellectual dishonesty is wearing very thin."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

I tire of going to town on your ass. It's as decisive as my debates with Agathon and Urban Ranger. You have good company.
I may respond further to this thread later, if you have the balls to even show up."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

I'm not being a jackass, DinoDoc is being a tool by misrepresenting what's going on and then linking to misinformed douchebags who write op-ed pieces on a nothing site and presenting it as some example of Obama's actions. I spent 10 seconds right after that post and googled it to back up my assertions about DinoDoc.
Frankly, I think it's absolutely stunning that I continue to be correct about things I know nothing about. I knew that Mexican trucker bull**** was bull**** before I even googled it.
It's not meant to be funny, it's meant to shine a spotlight on the Republican Party's official anuslicking representative on this forum. Ok so yea, language is a big deal. I am reverse role in this one, but different. I am on a Z visa so I can live and work in China, my company is huge but very little English. In my office almost everyone *except my boss and 2 others* speak English. But thats the wrong way to look at it, its me who can't read, write, speak, or understand Chinese. It affects my work because I constantly have to find a translator, I have to call people who are busy with their work, it isn't cool not knowing the language. So I am learning it.
Like someone has said before, tech manuals are no joke. Well in the business I work in I have had to try and help translate tech manuals....now you thought they were confusing in English? Try translating one....when a good percent of the words can't translate or translate wrong.
The fact of the matter is that this company is creating a safety hazard that doesn't stay in house, it travels all over the world with lives on board. I have seen arguing over NAFTA, which sucks btw, but that isnt the matter here. The matter is this company has laid off AMERICANs to replace them with cheaper, less educated, not paying taxes because they don't live here, Mexicans. .... pause..... let it hit you.... OH **** we have a crazy big unemployment % in the US....oh yea, thats right. People that support allowing foreigners to work in US companies on US soil because they are cheaper must have a well paying job, because I know damned well I was pretty pissed when I lost one of my old jobs to an illegal. *yea he really was illegal*
Think people...we need these jobs to stay local, and if not local then at least educated and certified with OUR requirements. It's your safety.
*NAFTA is not liked by some, liked by some. The quoted stats on it was from the approving side.*"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the Blood of Patriots and tyrants" Thomas Jefferson

Being as how I used to edit these manuals, I can tell you that it's not just illiterate Mexicans who can't read them. Oy vey.Last edited by Wiglaf; June 16, 2009, 21:41.
