It's nothing particularly French. CO2 per capita has decreased in the UK and Germany over the past 20 years, whilst GDP per capita has grown.
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

Though France has always been more fuel efficient then countries like the US or Canada.
I couldn't say for sure, but I'd say all 3.

Also, we have more stringent environmental regulation on industry than we did in the 70ies.

Isn't something like 80 percent of your power generation through Nuclear? I sure wish we could do that up here.

BK, stop spamming please. I'm not interested in your posts, and when you do post in a thread I can no longer tell at a glance if someone intelligent has posted in it because you now show up as the most reason poster.

I think that the article implies a need to subsidize the building of modern nuclear reactors around the world.

IAEC should become a promoter rather than an inhibitor of nuclear energy.

Still there are countless bomb shelters from the '50s and '60s stocked with ancient food to attest that its hard to get the timing right. Better to own some food production, like the rice fields, that regularly supply you with food even before the system breaks down.
It doesn't have to be like that. For instance, you buy/keep a few extra bags of rice... it can keep for a couple years or so in a cool, dry place... so the next bag of rice you buy/keep, you take the oldest bag for eating... put the new bag at the end of the queue... so you always have a supply of rice to fall back on if the **** hits the fan.

Some things keep longer, some things not as long... but the basic principle applies to just about everything.
