But yes, the perimeter is expanding. It is nearing the edge of the city."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

How's this for a coincidence:
Recession drops curtain on Stratford shows
The Stratford Shakespeare Festival, in a move unprecedented in its 57-year history, has placed 31 performances "on hold," removing them from its 2009 schedule and transferring tickets already sold to the public to shows on other days.
The action sends out a frightening signal about the impact of the recession on larger arts organizations, coupled with the National Ballet of Canada's decision this week to cancel its Western Canadian tour for economic reasons.
Stratford's drastic cuts were driven by poor advance sales, with box office revenues running 15 per cent behind last season's – a year that resulted in a $3 million deficit.
One date, an April 30 preview of West Side Story, has been cancelled outright.
The 31 "held" shows include five in July, three in August, six in September and 17 in October.
Cutting back advertised performances is a new concept at Stratford. The dates are effectively being cancelled, with people who have already bought tickets compelled to choose alternative dates.
If, later in the season, demand grows for certain plays, "held" shows will be put back on sale.
All of the lost shows are in the larger Festival and Avon theatres.
Musicals, comedies and dramas are all feeling the pinch, with the exception of Colm Feore's two starring vehicles – Macbeth and Cyrano de Bergerac – neither of which has lost any performances.
Any Festival savings from a less busy schedule will come not from the salaries of the actors, who are on eight-performance-per-week contracts, but from the running costs of technical crews, which can vary markedly from play to play.
Anita Gaffney, the Festival's administrative director, admitted the decision was "done very reluctantly" and stressed that a play will have performances restored "if there's a demand for it."
Gaffney noted that "we still have over 600 performances available."
Although the Shaw Festival has made no revisions to its 11-play season, it is labouring under a 17 per cent decline in sales from last year.
The National Ballet cited a possible loss of $500,000 if ticket sales waned in cancelling its five-city fall tour of The Sleeping Beauty."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
