So, how are you celebrating Jesus being nailed to the cross and dying a horrible death?
Humph! For once, we Westerners are celebrating Easter on the Sunday after Passover, and you Easterners are draping the dead body of Christ on the donkey while trying to figure out how to count a week and a half as 3 days and 3 nights in the tomb.
Whereas half the time, your method has him rising from the dead weeks before Passover. And there's no way to make the stretch from Friday night to predawn Sunday morning last a full 72 hours no matter how you reckon it. He was in the tomb for portions of three separate days.
I thought you were about to say the other one. The one about passion fruit or something.
Never heard of it. That must be the one the evil Jews kept me from seeing for whatever reason. I can't fathom what Mel might have put in a movie that they didn't want getting out.
It was a weak attempt by Ali to be humorous. She wanted to fit the tone of the asswipe thread starter. She's not cut out for it.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

He also hates Texans and Australians, he does diversify." ~ Braindead
I think many here are forgetting that the miracle of atonement is two-fold. First, there is the incredible self-sacrifice of Christ bearing the sins of mankind. He suffered not only the sins of the world, but also felt the pains of sickness, loneliness, and all mortal pain. Christ gave himself up into the hands of His enemies and allowed Himself to be crucified.
Secondly, he rose from the dead. Christ overcame the grasp of death and showed the world that death is not the end, but the beginning. This is the miracle that we celebrate on Easter. It is not a time to mourn, but a time to rejoice.
And thirdly, having risen from the dead, He chose to return every year on the anniversary of his crucifixion, taking the form of a giant rabbit and distributing candy -- and feeling safe because, really, who's going to be stupid enough to nail a bunny to a couple of 2x4's when you know He's an endless source of chocolate?

Well, to be fair, Slowwhand does have a pretty sharp sense of humor. The main problem is that there are some topics of discussion that make him go ballistic. Given that he's already had one brush with Death (and apparently, he kicked the Grim Reaper's bony ass so hard it won't be back for a while), it's probably best just to pretend nothing happened. He'll return to his usual programming schedule soon enough.
I was wrong about the film title, too. Clearly, I was thinking of the South Park episode Passion of the Jew.
