Believe me -- if I wanted to do what Dale did, I could've long, long ago. Without admin problems. Poly was on a security-hole-ridden version of vBulletin for many years. Versions that have widely known and trivially exploitable holes, including SQL injection exploits. All it would've taken was a couple "drop table" statements and massive chaos would ensue.

The difference between Dale and myself is I actually know what I'm doing and don't need to abuse the powers to get to people if I want to.

I think the reason Dale may so sensitive to me is going back a few months where I basically told him all he was doing was toying with somebody else's game, not creating his own game. It really affected him at the time and he kind of went off on me there because he fancies himself some kind of high-class video game designer. When I started prodding him about specifics about what he knows it was clear the emperor had no clothes.

I'll grant you that his mod to Colonization makes the game playable, but his changes were all common sense changes that really demonstrates how awful Firaxis is these days more than how good he was.

I really do want to help them out here in fixing their tech problems. I do understand why they are hesitant given our history, but I can work past it if they can.

I'd even be willing to sign a legal liability waiver, where I agree to pay Dan X amount of money if I ****ed something up intentionally. Could even have a Poly lawyer look it over if they wanted.

I've no intention of ****ing the site up, I just want to fix the damned problems as they drive me crazy.
