The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

So, someone did delete my posts. And the Poly Admin didn't have the balls to tell me.
I suspect Asher could be about as entertaining as he is now without pissing quite so many people off so badly.
I say what I think and put it out there. Sometimes sparks fly, sometimes hilarity ensures, sometimes people cry. If I don't do it, then it changes how I post.
I assure you, on sites where I do have a self-censor (Beyond3D, DigitalHome, and some others) I'm utterly boring and nondescript.

That is the key. Ming was always smart enough not to force their hand. Dale made it inevitable. Alternately Ming is too much of a crony to boot out. Moot point. Its been quiet now for years, no posts deleted or altered, threads deleted or awful morally superior PMs to stomach for quite some time.
Still, reading Dan's apology to you gave me a pang. Back when it was at its worst I sent every single communication from Ming to both Dan and Markos who never did anything that I could see...but it wasn't public like this. I'd post one of Ming's PMs and the thread would vanish in a sec and me too. I'll say it again Asher, you are one lucky son of a gun.

Lancer..believe me, I've been there TONS myself. In years past, under MarkG's management I believe, people are banned on site for complaining publicly and told to PM the mods. And if you PMed the mods you just got mocked or promptly ignored.
It's much better these days. It's in a positive direction. But there's still some bad decisions being made:
- Failure to promptly address the technical situation which is causing us to shed posters
- Not publicly acknowledging why 400 of my posts were deleted, trying to sweep it under the rug (a recurring theme)
- Lack of proper consideration when accepting help for the site (I'm thinking AAHZ, Dale...)

Its a loss. Right now I'm running Colonization with Dale's wonderful mod that makes it truly a great game. Its artistic! A very fine thing.
The admins don't really administrate. Hell, right now Ming is an admin, will Poly admins ever send me an apology like you got? Its hopeless. The worst possible decisions...so many years. Stuff like this, just another nail in the coffin. Right now in the dead Colonization forum there is a sticky thread right on top about Dale's mod. In it, the last post, he links to CivFanatics. I'd say this nail in the Poly coffin isn't their fault, but an admin that administrates would have stopped the abuse against you and aired it out. Instead Poly learns of it this way and the collective remaining die hard Apolytoners just feel let down like there really is never going to be any hope with these guys.
I like them, Dan and Markos, but they don't carry their admin responsibility well.

yes this place was interesting because of all the egotistical Civ 2/SMAC players. Thats why i want a ladder tourny or some competitive aspect back here.

Really, if that PM is genuine, Dale might as well have "proud owner of the world's smallest penis" in his sig. Not even Asher can be that infuriating to somebody who doesn't have serious emotional issues. I suppose a permaban might be in order, but honestly I found the PM kinda funny. "Oooh I have scary internet powers I will hunt you down and boogaboogabooga!" I can't recall ever reading something that childish and petulant before, and with all the time I've spent online...wow, that's sad.
As is often the case, I agree 100% with Elok and -Jrabbit.
If the PM is legit, Dale--whom I have gotten along with rather well in the past, certainly better than Asher and I have gotten on together at times--somehow struck a perfect balance between utterly pathetic and completely vile. So... kudos?
