I never really understood the GOP's claims that "income taxes are skyrocketing" just because Obama is raising the very top tax bracket from 36% to 39%. Hell, their man-god Reagan had the top tax break at 50% for his entire first term then lowered it to 39.6% in his second term. So Obama's "soak the rich" taxes are actually lower then Reagan's but the GOP claims Reagan is a low tax guy while supposedly Obama is a socialist.

No, really. She feels strongly that intelligent people shouldn't have to resort to force, but acknowledges as a practical matter that it's about half as likely as a Kucinich/Sharpton presidency.

Why are you conflating pacifism with lolbertarianism?

He's posted before about her being a lolbertarian.

Hmm, it's obvious you don't watch the show often, as Glenn Beck is VERY religious. He has spoken multiple times about his lifestyle change (he used to be an alcoholic and his wife divorced him because of it), and how he got to where he is today. A great deal of that story focuses around his belief in God and his religion.

Despite his sometimes over-the-top rantings, my husband really likes Glenn Beck as he seems to be the voice of the moderates. He usually has interesting things to say and he isn't afraid to play hard-ball in interviews with people whose actions are questionable (especially politicians).

Perhaps you should reread his post and then mine.

I don't, but she equates government with the forceful imposition of one will upon another. Ideally, we should all just make personal agreements to divide things up fairly without the threat of death or imprisonment backing said agreements up; however, she realizes it ain't gonna happen, which makes her a starry-eyed idealist rather than a raving loon. The main impact of her views on her life is that she refuses to vote.

While government is (or at least contains the threat of) force, why would she think it's the only one? For example, lolbertarians are, by and large, believers in the right to self-defense. They have no problem with forceful imposition; merely forceful imposition by the government.
