Is Ben being a hypocrite or just being ironic?

Just stupid and misinformed. I look forward to him not being able to get a job and then demanding benefits because of his religious beliefs. I'm pretty sure that the Christian right is going to become (more) schizophrenic in the next 15 years.
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

I'd like to know what Che thinks about the article on the interview with Iowa Senator McCoy. Because Che said that Iowa may have a similar backlash as in California.

That is what I thought too, until someone sent me that article.

And, although with most gays and lesbians, you cannot tell their orientation just by looking, with some you can. Some gays are flaming; some lesbians are very butch. Do we need to shove them back into the closet so that they can get jobs and become taxpayers?

I don't see why employers should be required to pay domestic partner benefits. If they want to, great, but it shouldn't be required. If an employer wants to give gay people benefits, then they should be able to go right ahead and do so.
But can they? Without legal recognition of domestic partnering an employer isn't going to be able to do that, because the benefit plans are managed by insurance corporations, and they're not going to extend those benefits if they don't have to..

So I suppose this means gay and lesbian Californians can fly out to Iowa now to get legally married.

I think polygamy should be allowed as well. If two guys can be a family, so can man and harem.

Next a group of us get together, you will have to draw pictures of your argument on this on napkins when we discuss this.

Emergency contact? Not an issue. Benefits, yes. If I'm not allowing people to name boyfriends and girlfriends, then I have to be consistant.

It's a question of appearance. Do folks with hearing aids need to take them off in order to become taxpayers? I need them to hear, but folks treat me better without them on. They treat me like a real person.

Asking for equal rights isn't pushing... or 'uppity', or 'demeaning to the virtuous woman'.
Asking for special rights is a problem.

Maybe they'd like to pick them up from work when they're done? Drop something off? Do other things that straight people do all the time w/o thinking about it?
I don't have an issue with that. If however, they are having them do it in order to push it on me, they would be gone. Let me be honest here. Of all the folks I worked with at the store, who picked them up was a non-issue because they just waited outside, and their ride came. My experience is that it's been the demonstrations that are an issue.

So if you showed up, worked hard day after day, and then one day they fired you for being deaf, you'd be okay with that? And that you should expect it? Cuz if you complained, that'd be 'making a statement'.
I don't even get to that position. How can I go in day after day and they don't know I'm deaf. Generally it happens at the interview stage.

IF all he/she does if sell you something, what's the problem. If they hit on you, that's a problem for anyone and you can talk to the manager.
Oversharing is a problem, and yes it is a problem for management.
