You know, back in the 16th century, it was deduced that if people lived in a communist society, that they would only have to work ~6 hours per day.

Now we have trucks, and GM foods, and tractors, and factories, and all sorts of other things.

1. The people were pissed off enough to revolt.
2. Communists gained the upper hand.

I would expect there to be the danger of any revolution ending in some sort of authoritarian system, especially when there are internal and external enemies.

Why bother to revolt if there are no such enemies ? and since there always will be such, then the authoritarian system will be the result.

Well, the fact is that you can use a communist system to create wealth, but it's going to be on the backs of the poor, just as it is in a capitalist system.

IMO, a capitalist system is better for creating wealth.
