  • Tensions between Hungary and Romania

President of Hungary wished to visit Transsilvania/Siedmiogrod (Siebenburgen),
which belonged to Hungary for most of its history and has a hungarian majority in part of its territory, at the day of a hungarian national holiday. Romania remarked that would be seen as an unconciliatory move, so Hungarian gouverment called romanian embassador for explenations. After that, Romania has officially forbidden hungarian president to land there.

Hungary should just Annex that and Trans-carpathian Ukraine too.

It really doesn't have much of a Romanian history.

Magyars were unjustly punished after the First world war.

I do agree that Hungary was too much punished after ww1... Much, much, much more than Germany or any other state.

It was a bit too far.
                1) Burgenland - german-speaking, true, but historically hungarian. Why would Austria get it, being even more guilty than Hungaria?
                2) Southern Slovakia - inhabited clearly by Hungarians, and never belonging to Slovakia, as there was never a Slovakia. I think this was the biggest mistake, especially that this decision, alongside with wrong Teschen judgement, undermined solidarity among CE states.
                3) the Shekler parts of Transsilvania should have been made autonomous at least, and again border regions were majorly hungarian
                4) I don't know much about Voivodina.
Hungary should have been reduced, but less.
