Good movie. I ****ed up and took my son though. It was a spur of the moment thing with a couple friends. I didn't know it was rated R until we were waiting in line. Then I figured that it probably would be a "not so bad for 10 year olds" rated R but it wasn't. My son had to keep his eyes closed during a good part of the movie.

this film had some really gratuitous violence. It was awesome. I hadnt read the graphic novel, but had been following the hype since Darren arfenofskys name was involved with the project. This film surpassed my expectations! violence and wierdness wins

I just watched this movie.

It is easily the worst movie I have seen in YEARS. It was TORTURE. It's overly long, the characters are ****ing wooden and obnoxious, the raspy-voiced anti-hero narrator is annoying as **** (and overdone to a comical degree), the plot was muddled, messy, confusing, and scattered.

I'm sure those of you who actually read/looked at the "graphic novel" may've liked it because you knew what the **** was going on. But this was NOT a good movie except for the nerds who thought it faithful...but that does NOT make it a good movie.

Holy ****, I'm pissed off I wasted over 3 hours on that turd.

I suffered the Director's Cut FWIW. Even longer than the **** in the theatres without making any more sense. But I'm sure they quoted more lines from the ****ty comic book.

I watched it having never read the book. It didn't confuse me.

Then maybe you could explain to me WTF was with the blue cat with ****ing horns on its head.

The main plot wasn't that bad, but the massive array of sub-plots and characters introduced just for the purpose of basically showing that the sub-plot exists without ever fleshing it out or explaining it was also maddening.

Also, did they run out of CG budget for ****ing pants for Dr Manhattan? Jesus ****ing Christ.

I'm gay and still believe that was totally unnecessary.

And why the **** did Veidt(sp?) build a palace in the ****ing antarctic? The logistics of that blow my mind. That one character in particular came out of nowhere with a bunch of random, perplexing traits and is never explained.

And whoever did the soundtrack for this movie had a hard-on not only for blue ****, but also Bob Dylan.

And why the hell would they play Hallelujah during a sex scene? Maybe if they spent less time on soft-core superhero sex and more time on explaining WTF a cat is blue with horns I'd be less pissed off.

Sorry if I'm "spoiling" this **** for you if you haven't seen the movie, but rest assured it's as astoundingly stupid if you see it in the movie without the spoiler as you would with it.

I wasn't aware that it had any relevance to the plot, so I went "Oooooo. Cat with horns" and dismissed it as a cool-looking prop. Job done.
