I decided to go back to my nerdy high school roots and am now reading some Greyhawk Adventures soft cover books from around 2000. Right now I am reading The Temple of Elemental Evil.

Will start Kerouac's "On the Road" any moment now

"The Vivisector" by Patrick White. A sort of weird, twisted Pygmalion, about the development of painter's psyche over his lifetime, with a lot about his sexuality. Very hard to understand, but interesting.

A New Birth of Freedom: Abraham Lincoln and the Coming of the Civil War by Harry V. Jaffa

IIRC Michael Reaves wrote "Darth Maul: [Something or Other]" a prequel to Episode One. It was a little uneven, but usually very good. How was "Star Wars Death Star?"

I'm finishing my re-reading of "Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman. Catch the BBC video of this novel if you can.

Oh yes, Neverwhere the miniseries was hilarious. Classic British TV merged with classic Gaiman

That was Shadow Hunter. As far as Star Wars books go, Death Star was OK. It passes the time, but you already know the ending.

Read it a couple months ago. Good book but not the best in the Arkady Renko series. Nevertheless: anything by Martin Cruz Smith is way above par for the genre.

If you like those, you should read his books about his time as a subaltern in a highland regiment after WWII (he spent WWII as a private in Burma - with the chindits IIRC). Very funny!
