It seems a little naive to nominate someone before you determine that they dont agree with anything you want to do. Aside from the embarrassment, the whole situation is kinda "meh" except for the pathetic attempts by the whitehouse staff to spin the situation. We need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

It all depends on who you believe, I guess. Gregg apparently has taken the blame, saying that it was he who changed his mind... other (unnamed) sources claim he was essentially forced out.
I don't really care.

Regardless, Spencer's point is that Gregg isn't exactly on board with Obama's spending ideas. The stimulus made Gregg realize this just isn't going to work.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Come on. I wouldn't want Karl Rove doing it, either. No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Obama better improve his achievements, how else is he going to manage to make world peace, unite the world under his banner and show himself as the Anti-Christ as the right wing promised?Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.-Isaiah 41:10

I don't think that it's the census or stimulus. The census has always been primarily WH engineered, and the stimulus is broadly similar to what Obama proposed before he announced Gregg (only more Republican - aid to states was significantly reduced, and the AMT fix was attached to the bill). Rather, he realized that he'd have far more power as a swing vote for cloture than holding the most irrelevant Cabinet post. Look at how Collins, Nelson, Snowe, Specter, and Lieberman engineered the Senate bill."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "
