I can agree with that in theory and in the context of a street exhibit (for example). This is not a street, however, it's a university. If any place should be firmly on the side of "free speech" in counter balance with "public decency" (whatever that is) it must be the universities.
I was personally appalled by some of the nazi behaviour (newspaper burning) that occurred at Brown University over advertisements opposing abortion that some liberal students found offensive. Every time I think of it I thank god (not literally since I'm a non-believer) that I didnt get a job as a professor there. We need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

Now the Students Union makes its move.
Anti-abortion group may lose club status at U of C
A pro-life student group already facing trespassing charges over an anti-abortion protest could see its university club status and some funding revoked next week.
The University of Calgary Students’ Union will hold a hearing on Tuesday into whether it should take sanctions against Campus Pro-Life after it violated university guidelines surrounding its Genocide Awareness Project.
“The university issued a written warning to the organization some time ago. . . . We issued our own warning (at the time that) if they were to violate any university policy, we would not be defending them and would be putting in some sort of sanctions,” said students’ union president Dalmy Baez.
“We don’t tolerate any club that will violate university policy.”
U of C administrators and the student group have been locked in an ongoing dispute over the biannual protests that feature billboards showing violent images of genocide victims next to graphic depictions of aborted fetuses.
The university warned students if they held their protest without turning billboards inward, so people could choose whether they wanted to view the images, group members could face legal action.
But Campus Pro-Life refused to comply during its Nov. 26 and 27 protest.
Some members have since received court summonses to answer to trespassing charges at the end of this month.
Now, members of the Campus Pro-Life executive will have to appear before the students’ union club committee on Tuesday to defend their actions.
“This makes me more frustrated than the university taking us to court,” said Campus Pro-Life president Leah Hallman.
“The student union is supposed to represent the students and is supposed to be our voice and to protect us. The fact that they’re possibly going to impose sanctions against us makes me very frustrated.”
The loss of its club status would be a considerable blow for Campus Pro-Life, said Hallman.
Official student clubs have the right to book space for meetings on campus free of charge. They also can participate in clubs week, a key recruiting event for all campus groups, she said.
Clubs are also entitled to apply for some student union funding, including food and beverage money and up to $1,000 for holding a special event, said Baez.
But the students’ union hearing notice states it can remove a club’s sanctioned status or withhold funding or services at any time if the group violates students’ union or university bylaws, procedures or policies.
Baez stands by the decision to investigate sanctions after the group ignored the university’s request because other student clubs are expected to abide by the rules.
“We, as the students’ union, are supposed to be representing students and supporting them in any way possible. There are limits to this,” said Baez.
Even if club status is removed, Hallman said, her group would continue its on-campus protests.
“We could and will still do everything we can. They won’t stop us from spreading the message of life on campus. But it will make things much more difficult for us,” Hallman said."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Good, maybe if they spent more time following the rules instead of arguing that the rules shouldn't apply to them, they wouldn't be being punished. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Does any one else read the title of this thread and finish with "suck it long and suck it hard" in a Sean Connery voice?
ACK!
I envision Duke Nukem saying it, actually.

I guess AYAS's are supposed to be gay, but it's not explicit. Certainly no more gay than "YMCA," and that was decades ago.

Jenny Was a Friend of Mine and Midnight Show are two parts of the "murder trilogy".
The first song of the trilogy wasn't on Hot Fuss, but released on "Sawdust" last year called "Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf" -- it sort of leads into the story for why the murder happened. Midnight Show is a song about the murder of Jenny, and Jenny Was a Friend of Mine is about the aftermath (being interrogated, etc). They're actually linked by the same phrase, "She said she loved me", which is a recurring phrase in both songs.
Leave the Bourbon on the Shelf
Shakin' like the Devil when she lets me go
Got a new place, and how it's so much better
Falling over myself, the televisions' on,
I turn it off and smile
Oh, Jennifer, you know I always tried
Before you say goodbye
Leave the bourbon on the shelf
And I'll drink it by myself
And I love you endlessly,
Darling don't you see I'm not satisfied
Until I hold you tight
Give me one more chance tonight
And I swear I'll make it right
But you ain't got time for this
And that wreckin' bell is ringin'
And I'm not satisfied
Until I hold you
Jennifer, tell me where I stand
And who's that boy holdin' your hand?
Oh, Jennifer, you know I always tried
Before you say goodbye
Leave the bourbon on the shelf
And I'll drink it by myself
And I never liked your hair or those people that you lie with
But I'm not satisfied
Until I hold you tight
And I love you endlessly,
Darling don't you see I can't be satisfied
Until I hold you tight
Leave the bourbon on the shelf
And I'll drink it by myself
And I love you endlessly,
Darling don't you see
I'm not satisfiedMidnight Show
I know what you want
I wanna take you a midnight show tonight
If you can keep a secret
I got a blanket in the back seat of my mind
And a little place that sits beneath the sky
She turned her face to speak
But no-one heard her cry
I drive faster, boy
I drive faster, boy
I know there's a hope
There's too many people trying to help me cope
You got a real short skirt
I wanna look up, look up, look up, yeah yeah
We were just in time
Let me take a little more off your mind
There's something in my head
Somewhere in the back said
We were just a good thing
We were such a good thing
Make it go away without a word
But promise me you'll stay
...
Oh make it go away!
I drive faster, boy
I drive faster, boy
Oh the crashing tide can't hide a guilty girl
With jealous hearts that start with blossom curls
I took my baby's breath beneath the chandelier
Of stars in atmosphere
And watch her disappear
Into the midnight show...
Oh faster, faster, faster...
Oh no no no no no...
If you keep a secret
Well baby... you can keep a secret
If you keep a secret...
We took a walk that night, but it wasn't the same
We had a fight on the promenade out in the rain
She said she loved me, but she had somewhere to go
She couldn't scream while I held I close
I swore I'd never let her go
Tell me what you wanna know
Oh come on, oh come on, oh come on
There ain't no motive for this crime
Jenny was a friend of mine
So come on, oh come on, oh come on
I know my rights, I've been here all day and it's time
For me to go, so let me know if it's alright
I just can't take this, I swear I told you the truth
She couldn't scream while I held I close
I swore I'd never let her go
Tell me what you wanna know
Oh come on, oh come on, oh come on
And then you whisper in my ear
I know what you're doing here
So come on, oh come on, oh come on
There ain't no motive for this crime
Jenny was a friend of mine
