Maybe this is Obama's intent, actually. Find all the tax cheats, and offer then cabinet positions, on the hope that they end up having to pay their unpaid taxes; with the extra money he will balance the budget, fund national health care, and a stimulus package over $1T.

I am no fan of either of these jerks, but most of this stuff is likely entirely inadvertant. You power income losers have no idea of the imense volume of income tax related crpa that come into one of these guys ignoramous secretaries who has to indentify it, without really having the background of all their empolyers activities, file it in the right place, then succesfully get it all to the accountant. The principal himself , if fully empolyed WILL NOT be handling the tax records himself, and will not see a damn thing until the CPA hands him a return for signature. What the rich busy douchebags need to do is spend the money to hire a halfway tax savey bookeeper, to keep their records and open all the mail insted to the letting the busty secretary do that.
I am a slightly rich old fart, part time hours, who does everything for myself and my businesses, including all the bookeeping and tax **** except for the returns. Doing all the business work for my stuff is 40% of my work time, doing otherwise useless to me crap for governments, the largest part being taxes and tax accounting, is 60% of my work time.
I doubt that 10% of the population here even has the native intellgence to be able to learn how to deal with federal income taxes for any taxpayer more complicated than a simple wage earner.

          Holy ****!!!

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Nancy Killefer, who failed for a year and a half to pay employment taxes on household help, has withdrawn her candidacy to be the first chief performance officer for the federal government, the White House said Tuesday.

Killefer was the second major Obama administration nominee to withdraw and the third to have tax problems complicate their nomination after President Barack Obama announced their selection.

The White House said Obama had accepted Killefer's decision and that the 55-year-old executive with consulting giant McKinsey & Co., would explain her reasons for pulling out later Tuesday.

When her selection was announced by Obama on Jan. 7, The Associated Press disclosed that in 2005 the District of Columbia government had filed a $946.69 tax lien on her home for failure to pay unemployment compensation tax on household help.

Since then, administration officials have refused to answer questions about the tax error which she resolved five months after the lien was filed.
          This is getting absurd.

Maybe Obama is bringing change to America by enlisting the service of tax cheats.

Bernie Kerik was actually indicted for tax fraud (among other things) a couple years ago. That dude was greasy.

Daschle needs to go. His Senate connections aren't worth this bull****.

Obama has already picked some lobbyists. There's no need to deep-six Daschle on anti-lobbyist principle that the President has already abandoned.

Daschle appears to me to be a genuine error on the part of Obama and his cabinet candidate vetters. Tom does not represent change, he represents the old "revolving-door" type of Senior Government Official. One error does not represent failure, but that person then calling attention to himself by paying very nearly $150,000 in taxes in the teeth of his confirmation hearings only makes it worse. :anger:
