OK I get it. We can't afford to be all moral and what not at this time of crisis. However if that were indeed the case, why did Team Obama try and keep this secret until the WSJ blew the whistle on Tuesday?I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara
For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

Icky.
Simplifying the tax code would be good. That way, we'd have a better idea about whether this was a mistake or deliberate evasion. Given that he's the establishment choice, I'd guess evasion, but it's hard to know for sure.
I'm a little surprised that he made it through the vetting process once they discovered he owed $25,970. Either they figured that no one would care (possible) or it really is a common mistake (amongst really rich people, anyway).

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

Only after claiming it was an honest mistake. This is such bull****. But the ONE is in charge and blinders are on the press. There's no way the new administration can live up to all the expectations.Originally posted by DinoDoc View PostCan I ignore my taxes until I get appointed to a high office?
The hype has almost been unbearable. I wish them luck, because they're going to need it.It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

The future of America is more important than a silly law. We are in a crisis here people, don't you understand that. Sacrifices will be needed.Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that. --Saul Tigh

Normally I would have just assumed so, but Since the ONE got elected, there's been a lot of kool aid drinking around here. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

Good! Hopefully this will reverse the Zoe Baird precedent.
I think Geithner's sin is far more serious than Baird's. It doesn't really make sense that you can get 86'd for giving illegal immigrants work (which Geithner also did, albeit probably innocently), but not for cheating on your taxes.
As Joe Biden said, paying your taxes is patriotic.

I agree, but if Geithner gets excused for this, others will hopefully be excused for lesser offenses.Originally posted by Naked Gents Rut View Post

DinoDoc seems to think that the IRS will stop functioning because the incoming SecTreas tried some bull**** on his personal taxes(which is something unheard of in America, I'm sure...)Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.
