Good episode. My theory on the other people on the plane are that they work for Widmore and the box they had is going to be used to capture Smokey, so that Widmore can come back to the island.

No. Not even close. Not even close to the best episode of this season.
Still good though. And Desmond beating the ever-loving **** out of Ben was ****ing awesome.
Also it answered a whole mess of questions - how did Ben kidnap Alex, why was Widmore exiled, how did Ben summon the smoke monster. This season is doing a great job of answering questions while keeping the story moving.
It appears as though the temple is some sort of Egyptian / North African structure. Linked to the Tunisia worm hole perhaps?John Brown did nothing wrong.

Definitely great, an episode that probably answers more questions than it introducesBesides, I like both Ben and Locke, so this was a fun watch. Once again a nice Egyptian tie-in with the drawing of Anubis and the Monster at (below) the Temple.
And a slightly spoilery bit of info, related to one of the existing theories about Mrs Hawking:
Spoiler:For a future episode there's a "Young Eloise Hawking" character credited, the actress playing her is born in 1971. So we'll see young Hawking, however, at least on IMDB the actress who played Ellie in Jughead is now credited as "Young Eloise Hawking" for that episode. Seems like strong evidence towards that Ellie == Hawking theory.Solver, WePlayCiv Co-Administrator

Missed that. Excellent call.
Looks like Dan was right the first time: whatever happened, happened. That certainly was the implication of the Hawking-Widmore discussion outside the hospital. So the 815ers are going to cause the incident..."My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine

Yeah missed that also.
With the exception of Daniel's death. (But I figure we'll see him again) Last night's episode was a bit of a dissappointment. It seemed to be a transition episode just setting the stage for later episodes. That was the problem with a few earlier seasons. You can't have too many of those episodes or it just gets boring. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

No, that was not the problem with earlier seasons. The problem with earlier seasons were episodes with completely pointless flashbacks and present storyline that were just wheelspinning--ie, Jack's tattoos, Charlie have religious visions, Sawyer hunting a tree frog. Forward progress is still forward progress, and this episode had a ****load:
--James is exposed, and held prisoner along with Juliet
--Jack and Kate are exposed, blew up a portion of Dharma HQ, and are off in the jungle
--Hurley, Jin, and Miles are, undoubtedly, seconds away from being exposed themselves
--Some more serious ****ing **** is about to go down, leading to The muther****ing Incident!"My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine
"The subject of onanism is inexhaustable." --Sigmund Freud

Yeah, Jack's tattoo etc, boring filler for characterization.
But I still stand by, this was a transition episode, the end of their darma experience and back to their own group. It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

I need to watch the last two episodes again. Wifey got mad at me when I called the show a mellow drama that is getting worse than Gray Anatomy. When we learned that Faraday's dad was what's his face, I was like "lame!" Thank God there's only one more season 'cause this is getting too much drama for me.

When we learned Widmore was Faraday's dad, I was also not very interested. It seems like by the end there will be a couple extended families that make up 90% of the cast.
The action is keeping up though. And I genuinely like Daniel's character. He's an interesting guy with some quirks, and he's not involved in any love triangles.John Brown did nothing wrong.
