In terms of looking for new jobs, networking is generally more powerful in turning up leads than just looking by yourself. So start thinking of all the people you have gotten to know and all your friends and family and ask them if they know of any oportunities in their areas.

Also, maybe the VA can give addition help. As a veteran you get extra consideration for any Federal jobs, so you should look into government work.

Sorry to hear that Sloww - I was made redundant at the end of November when the company I worked for decided to move their finance team down south (the dearest wish of the MD, who has now announced that he's leaving - The ****wit!), and have been reduced to temp jobs since then as the local economy is as bad as the rest of the country's, if not world's. But I'm waiting to hear back from an interview I went to last night, so all is not awful just yet. Not having a family to support makes things easier for me, but hang in there - you will find something soon.

Hey MF, if another job does open up, my husband is probably well qualified for this position as he is a history major (currently attempting to get his MA) and has worked as a contract researcher for the past few years. (Can't hurt to put a plug in, right?)
