So is not giving them a cell phone in the first place also considered child abuse?

One of my good friends is deaf. The majority of his communication revolves around texting. This is also true for his other deaf friends.
Well that would surprise me. Phones up until now have been mostly useless. I was thinking about it for awhile just now, and I realise how much happier I am with the recent innovations that I've seen in the last three years, the combination of 4 things.

      1. Laptop
      2. Internet
      3. Messenger
      4. Forums

For me it's really opened things up. I am able to keep in touch with my friends and they are able to do the same with me. Prior to this I went from having a payphone in the dorm. That was about all I had, so it's been a sea change.

I figure now, with a phone I could run an office here with nothing more then a laptop, messenger, connection to the internet and a phone. I had a job for quite some time working for a company based in Alberta, where I never actually entered the office. They needed someone out in BC, so it worked great.

I myself really appreciate the technology of texting, especially when I just have one quick question to ask and I don't want an entire conversation with someone. It allows me to avoid all those unnecessary pleasantries.
I could see the use for just a quick question, for people who use their phone all the time you'd probably get a quicker response then just email.

For me, I can't see the value in trying to hold a conversation through texting, when I could just use my laptop to achieve the same thing. Portability isn't really an issue. If I'm out somewhere I'm not really going to want to text unless I'm home, and when I'm home I'd rather use the big keyboard and screen over the small one.

Depends on the local court, as well as the number of the teen's friends of the same age who have cell-phones. Exacerbating factors include the number of hot rumors and cool parties they miss out on as a result of Nazi parenting.

Wow. Just wow. Not at the amount of SMS, although it's high. But a whooping 0.20 USD for a single SMS??? The most expensive provider of SMS here in Norway charge 0.09 USD, most providers charge 0.05 USD (with today's exhange rate). 0.20 USD is more expensive than what was usual in the start of the century...

What do the thieves charge per minute for talking?

I wonder why they chose to print the whole thing anyway. Is that normal in the US? Have they never heard of the internet?

Nikolai, would you pay just a total amount, not itemized?

I would have beat her half to death with her phone.

Why? The bill was $30. They sure got their money's worth.

I sure wouldn't want the whole bill. I'd want the total sum on the bill. The specifics aren't neccessary there. That's what the internet customer pages are for. Seriously, what century are you living in over in the US? Prices which belong to the early cell phone age and specified bills counting hundred of pages on paper?
