That right there was the hardest part of being a candidate. I am not a self-aggrandizing person. In fact, you will find no one less self-aggrandizing them me! Seriously though, it was very hard for me to say why I was the person for the job, when my nature is not to beat my breast and talk about how great I am, except in jest. I really didn't figure out a satisfactory way of dealing with the question at the time.

After finishing law school in Iowa 32 years ago he came to Minnesota and he hasn't left since, first climing the ladder at the state AG's office and then being St. Paul's mayor up until his Senate run. If that's a carpetbagger then I have to wonder who isn't...
