a) Politicians are preeners. They require an audience. I literally think that most who achieve national prominence have real psychological problems.

b) If she lets herself drop and tries to reignite in 2014 it's going to be a lot harder than if she keeps herself at least lukewarm

I agree with this. That's why I think she likes going on these shows even though there's no real benefit for her at the moment. She likes the limelight.

I disagree with this. She's a governor and a huge celebrity. She'll have no problem generating publicity if she decides to run for President again someday.

You really overestimate the memory of the public. Clinton kept herself on tap by being a Senator. She was on the national news at least once a month for at least a soundbite. Palin doesn't have the benefit of a national stage.
