Read my article I quoted, you are clearly using them in urban areas additionally -- and even the ones dropped on the troops "south of Baghdad" are killing US troops afterwords.
Read your own ****ing article. They clearly differentiate between cluster bombs (dropped by the USAF) and artillery-launched cluster munitions (fired by the Army). Your own article says the Air Force uses cluster munitions intelligently and the Army doesn't.

Are you not aware that despite being named differently internally in the US, both "cluster munitions" and "cluster bombs" are included in the OP's ban on cluster bombs?

Drake might be a bit slow on some things, Asher.

Perhaps you were to busy tracking your Xbox live account to note my repeated objections to their improper (and deliberately so) use by Isreal.

I'm not sure what Xbox Live or Israel have to do with this. Did you hit your head on your commander's desk one too many times while giving him head at sea?

No ****. My point is that cluster munitions have legitimate uses, are extremely effective and have played an important role in America's most recent major combat operations. The U.S. would have to be retarded to ban them.

Are you saying the US could not have killed columns of Iraqi troops in the desert without cluster bombs?

If so, your military is even more inept than I'd possibly imagined.

With only six bombs? No ****ing way.

                        You can't be serious.

It's not only six bombs. Do I need to explain how cluster bombs work, Drake, or do you want to admit quantity of explosives is a bad argument here.

Or course it is. The only difference is that cluster munitions break up into many smaller sub-munitions, allowing them to spread the blast effects of the high explosive contained over a much greater area than an equal amount of HE in a conventional bomb could achieve.

Maybe KH will stop by and explain the physics for you.

I'm pointing out you're just counting differently. Why not count the "sub-munitions" (which are the real bombs) as their own?

Fine, let's play this argument. They used 6 smart cluster bombs.
                            - How much do these cost per unit?
                            - How much space do they take up inside a B-52?
                            - How many tanks did these "six" bombs destroy?
                            - What is the cost of other weapons to destroy these, eg Hellfire or other kinds of guided munitions?

Once you answer these relevant questions, you may have a valid argument. Until then it's laughably incomplete, like something I'd expect from an arts student.

I think cluster munitions are a blast.

It's a lot of bang for the buck, so to speak.

Because six cluster bombs use up the same amount of an airplane's weapons delivery capability as six conventional bombs of equal size, but have far more killing capacity against dispersed targets.
