Ditto. AP's numbers made it look like something was really wrong; and given that Alaska is the GOP equivalent of Chicago -- or maybe Rhode Island's a better analogy -- suspicion is such a case would certainly be warranted. A Stevens win alone wouldn't have surprised me, either; these are the folks who elected Palin, after all.

But it's nice to see that AP's numbers were wrong, and nicer still to see that this might break for Begich after all.

You're just trying to justify your unfounded suspicions after the fact.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Anyway, Imran & BK, if you want to hear screaming about election fraud b/c the Dems are winning/have won, feel free to stop by any number of right-wing blogs.
I read major right-wing blogs every day and I've yet to see any screaming about widespread election fraud. The only point of concern is Minnesota, where there seems to be some legitimate concern about the propriety of some Franken votes that mysteriously turned up after the intial counting of votes.

The Republicans have been making a lot of hysterical claims about MN, none of which are actually grounded in any facts:

What the **** is minnpost.com? Given the abnormally large number of prominent GOP bloggers from Minnesota (Hugh Hewitt, Ed Morissey, Powerline), I think you can be expected to do a little better than that...

              NGR:

              Thanks for the backup.

I find it hard to believe that an extra 100 votes for Franken were found in a car.

No. There were only 32 votes found in that car.

I didn't know the Hamburglar was a resident of Minnesota.

Would you say that if we were talking about an election in Chicago, Rhode island, or Louisiana? Of course not. Suspicion is always warranted in those places. Alaska's the same.

There were no votes found in "that car." The story is bunk.

What it says is better-sourced than what the NY Post relied upon, which appears to only be Norm Coleman's lawyer. Who rapidly backed off the claim when challenged.

Considering the sources you pulled out of the rightwingosphere to try and show that as a boy Obama was suckled by Bill Ayer's wife while being instructed how to create pipe bombs, I find your complaint amusing.

Yes, I would. And no, suspicion is not always warranted in those places.

Fact is, you can imagine fraud in any locale all day long, if you are so inclined.
