No, if Penn goes for McCain the fat lady might sing. But it ain't going to happen.

Here's how to know when you can go to bed on 11/4:

    - If they call Ohio for Obama, it's over.
    - If they call Florida for Obama, it's over.
    - If they call Virginia for Obama, it's probably over, but he'll technically need a another state to put him over the top; if he can't grab FL or OH, watch for results from NV, NM, and CO.

And if they call NC or IN for Obama, stay up; the election's over, but you'll want to see just how big that landslide is going to be...

It's very surreal to hear a double-standard argument made between an event which took place and one that McCain just make up.
Poor McCain - he has burned his bridges with the media. If he doesn't become President, he won't even have the "maverick press darling" thing going for him.

So the attacks continue, some from left-wing groups like BraveNewPAC.org which has released ads questioning the health of 72-year-old McCain and warning that his administration would eliminate birth control for women.
Uhh, what? (At liberal douches. Assuming this is douchery. I put nothing absolutely beyond the Republican party at this point, but this still doesn't sound right, so my gut says liberal douchery.)

Others, such as a "letter from the future" from the Christian group Focus on the Family, warn of an America in 2012 where "pornographic magazines are openly displayed."

And McCain funded him. So what?

Also, McCain whining that the media -- which he used to call his "base" -- is ganging up against him and giving Obama a free pass, is deliciously ironic.

It's all about trying to turn the conversation away from the actual issues and onto emotionally charged labels. Maverick, war hero, terrorist, socialist... blah blah blah. Obama's been pretty good about staying on message -- which has been a critical weakness of the McCain team.

McCain has only made up 1 point in the past week in national polls, and hasn't made any inroads in battleground states in that time. Sadly for the GOP, it's too little too late.

McCain now needs to make up more than one point per day.

I think the focus in PA is less that McCain has a hope of getting it or winning the general with it, but that there are lots of competitive House races in the state, and he want to avoid Obama running up the margin by too much. Remember, we're primarily talking about RNC money.

Incidentally, it looks like Obama's going into Arizona.

I saw that. AZ would be blue this year if anyone other than McCain were running. I'd love to see it go, or even get close.

What's also weird if that ND is turning into a tossup, even though Obama pulled out of there a few weeks ago. Is there no limit to his awesome, messianic power?

Stop using reality to tear about McCain's arguments. You know facts have a liberal bias.

For what it's worth, a lot of these guilt-by-association tactics are a load of bull****.

I mean, if we go by that, I'm guilty of being a drug dealer, a user, an anti-semite, a shoplifter, a vandalizer, a drunk driver...

This was the campaign that said they would lose if they talked about the economy.

Yeah, the latest polls from AZ have Obama within the MoE. The McCain campaign has bought robocalls targeted at his home state.

If the election is called early in the east, then I think AZ might very well go blue as Republicans don't bother to stay at the polls.

Also, it would be very sweet to unseat Shadegg in AZ. He's widely considered the most conservative Congressman in the country, and the seat he holds used to belong...to John McCain.

It's Minnesota, not Arizona, but I'd like to see the brainless twit Michele Bachmann ousted as well.

That said, Elwyn Tinklenberg? That hardly sounds like a real person's name.

We could have a 6 D - 2 R delegation in AZ. A few short years ago, it was 2-6...

What I'd like to see is a Dem win my CD, previously occupied by HW. It went for his son by nearly 30% in 2004, but the polls are showing the Dem challenger, Mike Skelly, pretty competitive. The incumbent, John Culberson, is single-handedly responsible for stopping mass transit in Houston for years. It would be satisfying watching him getting stomped...
