Thanks for the updates. Would love to have more intimate one on one conversations with more members. I think I'll stick around - why not? Probably not going to come by everyday, especially when my work/studies becomes busier but a few times a week, for old time's sake.

Theben, you don't look 40, but then again those pics were taken 5 years ago, but I was thinking more like 30, though maybe you were 30 5 years ago. I do recall that a few people I thought was middle aged in 98. I'll take that as a complement.

As for Giancarlo, he's the member I last talked to because we posted together on another forum up through 2004 or so. We were both moderators there too - scary thought isn't it? We did actually talk a lot because we were of similar age, location, etc, though I obviously haven't heard from him since 2004.

Actually I don't remember the nihilist part, but either how, we all said some pretty weird things back then, and some of us were just beginning to learn English grammar.

I think the average age of Apolyton OT was a lot lower then, or maybe you just pay more attention to posters roughly your own age, I don't know.

I didn't quite become a hippy, regardless of what this newbie Colon says. He could be OD'ing on chocolates. I did become a grumpy university student though. And I'm not a leftie, nor one of the usual suspects in the US-sceptic crowd anymore. I visit the US whenever I can.

It's cool that you check in, even if just briefly.

'Jeszenka', I think it was. I remember he took his Magyar heritage very seriously and got into some heated discussion with Giant Squid (now there's another dude I wouldn't mind checking in - sorry for the squid recipes, man! I'll buy you a beer, or a fish or whatever).

And the maestroboto dude hated gays and usually made pretty fascist-like points. Other young ones were Starchild (who still visits occasionally), Iain and Spink, Darkgrendel, Sir David, Red Trotskyite and I'm sure I'm forgetting some other memorable people.
