I came from eastern Iowa/western Illinois and after having earned my Masters in U.S. History complete with a thesis, I have taught as an adjunct at a couple of community colleges.

Now, I have been living out in Silver Spring, MD by Washington DC for less than two weeks for a new career as a research specialist for an employer.

And as for Imran becoming a Democrat, I thought he just became less conservative, not necessarily so much more liberal that he's a Democrat. He's more of an independent voter than a Republican now. Did I get that right, Imran?

No. He was basically an extreme right winger up until about 2004-5 or thereabouts. Then he woke up to the fact that the Republican party was nuts. Now he's back to being an extreme right winger. The only consistency during the whole time is that he's never known what he was talking about.

The general trajectory of right wingers on this site since 2002 or thereabouts has (apart from the few crazy true believers) been to move from eating Bush's c**k before the war started to opposing him. It's the same as the clowns who were adamant that the Iraq war was a good idea, and who now pretend they always opposed it or have some sort of feeble excuse about how they were misled.

To be honest, decent discussions are pretty rare around here these days. As in the rest of the world, the political atmosphere has become poisonous and people don't see the point of genuine discussion any more.

Remember Michael Jezcenka? He was about 16 or 17 in 98 as well, conservative kid from LA. He had a buddy who posted with him, maetro or something.

He left the regular forums years ago and changed to MagyarCrusader or something. Last I saw of him he was monkeying around in the Scenario League. Maestrobto was the other one, haven't seen him since 2001.

It is nice to stop by the very first forum I ever joined. Shows how much the Internet has aged when you can say you've been at a forum for over a decade.
