    IMHO, we've about reached the bottom. The two worst things that could happened have already happened. The credit markets have seized up , and investors have panicked.

    As soon as the $700 billion starts to trickle into the system or the freeze is broken up in some other way, credit will start to flow again. Investors will see the market begin to uptick and will panic (in a good way), thinking that they've already missed the bottom. Cash will start flowing into the stock market again.

      There will be an upswing at some point. I don't think it will be sustained though.

      Also, I don't believe lending will improve much, either do investors.

        ~500 points down today for the Dow as of right now. We'll probably break 8,000 soon.

          I remember when stocks were in the 3000s. I thought they were overpriced then, still do. I predict this will stop in the 3000s and that I was right all these years.
