Awesome. No country kills as many pets or children.

This reminds me isn't it interesting how the US hasn't? I mean how would you describe NASA's post-Apollo ear other than "dismantling the fleet"?
With regard to manned spaceflight, it's certainly been greatly reduced. They've done good work in unmanned projects, though. In fact, come to think of it, go for the manned stuff, China! They can work on that for a while, and we can do long range probes for a while. Division of labor.

Forget Mars and forget finding E.T. I want to see a lunar base constructed!

              Yes, it is.

Mars is boring. It's like Texas, but colder.
How can an Albertan be against places that are like Texas, but colder?

I was waiting for that, and the answer is simple: We have money. And prettier landscapes.

Texas is far wealthier than Alberta and damn near as wealthy as all of Canada combined.

I'll give you the landscapes. That being said, Mars has far more impressive natural features than Alberta.

I think we've had this discussion. No, it's not.

Alberta is sitting on so much liquid gold that it rivals Saudi Arabia. Texas is small-time.

Tar sand still in the ground is not "wealth." Besides, Texas has far more going on for it economically than commodities.

It's an asset worth an unbelievable amount of money. It is wealth, it's just not refined wealth.

And the only other thing Texas has going on is crime and gunculture.

Alberta even has better video game companies. It's really no contest.

Tell me, Drake, how much are 300 billion barrels of oil worth?

Depends on a lot of different factors. Much less in Alberta than in Saudi Arabia or Texas, given the high cost of extraction.

The cost isn't so high anymore, and there's almost no future development left in Saudi Arabia or Texas. It became profitable after $30 oil, and it gets cheaper every year to do and more effective also as technology improves.

Alberta has conventional oil also, remember.

And to put the final nail in the coffin about the Texas vs Alberta wealth situation...look at how massive Texas's state debt is.

                              Alberta has no debt whatsoever.

                              311 still sucks.

Alberta is going to have to sell a lot of oil to make up the ~$810 billion annual income gap between it and Texas.

                                311 still sucks.
                                I still agree.
