  • I'm an SAP security technical consultant, supporting Canada Post's business systems.

I'm the guy who prevents users from doing things they're not allowed to do within the systems i support.

It's not always as boring as it sounds. But it mostly is.
    What?

      • I do whatever will keep my rent paid. Right now I'm driving a forklift in a warehouse owned by a formerly Canadian beer company. Boring as all hell, but working for a beer company in Canada is pretty much a recession-proof job.

              You missed Sleeman's

The bear is an American only promo (I think), so I doubt I'll see him wandering around the warehouse.

If I do see bears walking around, I think I'll be better off going to see a doctor rather than trying to talk to them.

              • Sleeman's is the only mainstream Canadian beer I'll drink...

Two years ago I had to tell parents that their daughter had died.

                  She was 18.

                  It was christmas morning.

That was propably (and hopefully) the worst day/moment in my life.

As of this past Wednesday, and until the end of January 2009, I am a full-time secondary school teacher ... for the first time since I began this career ~3 1/2 years ago no less. (To be more specific, I picked up two classes filling in for another teacher who has gone on maternity leave.)
                      Your path is clear.

Knock up as many secondary school teachers as possible in your district.

Officially, something like junior researcher in mathematics.

Although I'm officially employed, it's more akin to some kind of grant. I am a PhD student in mathematics and my "job" is to do research, for my thesis among other things.

I do research in algebraic graph theory. Basically studying certain graphs with large automorphisms groups ("lots of symmetries").
