If Dukakis had plucked his eyebrows I think he would have stood a much better chance of being elected.

I was five at the time, and Wikipedia notes that the photo-op backfired but doesn't explain why.
I never understood it either. Wasn't Dukakis in the Army?

Do not try to be like me Texan. I am more civilized and more capable of defeating any system and have the training to do so without even being detected. I once stole two panini makers from my university dining hall by disassembling them and fitting the parts into my pants.

While I also think this was macho posturing, I do believe he was just trying to point out that the terrorists are in Afganastan and not Iraq and that Irag should have continued to be our primary target.
But Biden has always had a confirmed case of diarrhea of the mouth, so this type of thing is not totally unexpected.

I could use some good shawarma right now or maybe a nice falafal on pita sandwich.

Pretty silly comment on Biden's part. Not unexpected. Not really a big deal.

Yes not a big deal but it does make me question Obama's judgment. (since choosing Palin supposedly taints McCain's judgment)
Biden is known for this type of thing. Granted Obama needed someone experienced on the ticket for balance but there were a lot of others that would have accomplished the same goal.

Obama had to know that Biden loves to keep talking until both feet are firmly inserted in his mouth. Why would you take the chance with such a loose cannon when you know how close the coverage is going to be.

Despite Biden's experience (or more because of it) he was a lousy selection and if McCain is taking abuse for Palin, Obama should be taking it too.

It's one thing to run your mouth, it's quite another to be demonstrably stupid.

Have an opinion or don't. This WELL IF PALIN IS DUMB SO IS BIDEN **** is childish.

He has a lot of experience looking stupid after running his mouth, so I think it ends up being the same.

This was mentioned at the convention many times.

Yes, it does. Do you think Biden was a good selection?

He's certainly a better selection than Palin, by about an order of magnitude. I don't like the guy though. He's got a used car salesman vibe about him.
