    Imagine the difficulty someone like McCain who suffered horrific torture before, as a broken man, giving in would have meeting someone who has no spine at all? Like interviewing a worm, the guy could flop right over.

    I'm with McCain on this one alot more than most of the stuff the Repugs stand for.

              What is an allied nation? Allied nations hang together in tough times so they don't hang alone. I can see McCain not meeting the Spanish government because they don't fit the criteria. I don't want a US pres making happy with such europowers and saying they are saving the alliance, or claiming to undo the damage caused by the Bush administration by getting cozy with wimps and claiming we are somehow stronger.

                For the last long time, the English have stayed by our side. Not France, nor Spain. Canada is liking having a big Rhode Island as an ally.

                    Spain is part of the NATO force in Afghanistan. So are France and (particularly) Canada, for that matter.

                                Actually, they do. We've had some trouble getting countries to commit troops to Afghanistan.
