  • The North Vietnamese beat you, utterly. They knew what it would take to win, and they won, utterly.
If that's the case, then I wonder how the N. Vietnamese have not yet conquered the world. If the Vietnam war is defined as an unequivocal N. Vietnamese victory vs. the Americans; then the Vietnamese have defeated the following countries-

    1.) France
    2.) US
    3.) S. Vietnam
4.) China (remember the 1979 war.) China achieved its 'objectives' and then quickly withdrew. (casualties on the China side are estimated to be exceedingly high.)
    5.) Cambodia

    ...Interesting.

Because that's how you refer to a "[President] Doctrine]? When you say the term Bush Doctrine, it is quite obvious it refers to a single doctrine, not just one of a cast of characters.

Bull. It's a perfectly acceptable use of the term.

        • In your source it's even spelled with a lower case.

"In a conference call with reporters, Obama said Clinton would continue the "Bush doctrine" of only speaking to leaders of rogue nations if they first meet conditions laid out by the United States."

            • Not my fault if they are doing it wrong, they even refer to it as:

              the "Bush doctrine"

I think even you would say doctrine should be capitalized there (as they are referring to one doctrine associated with a person).

Therefore perfectly acceptable for Governor Palin to ask which Bush Doctrine did Gibson mean.

                Thanks for backing my point

I can't believe you're sticking to this. At worst it's bad grammar. That's it.

OMFG! It's quite obvious that her initial response was gibberish. She couldn't answer the question. Hell, she probably doesn't know what the term "doctrine" means. You're being quite ridiculous.

This sort of assumption makes an ass only out of you (though it isn't like that's something new).

It is obvious that there isn't one definition of the "Bush Doctrine", so she was right to question which one Gibson was asking on.

I'm not talking about that point. I was talking about her initial gibberish response. But the bigger problem came after words...

Gibson: What do you interpret the Bush Doctrine to be?

Palin: His world view you mean?

She doesn't know what foreign policy doctrine is.

And you seem to have some kind of blinders on to not catch on to this Palin person.

A religious person who doesn't know what doctrine is? Now who's being ridiculous?

Isn't Bush's foreign policy doctrine his world view?
