  • It's easy to love the company when its founder just hands you $15 billion. Perhaps he will have a heart attack and we can divide him up to solve the food crisis in Botswana or something.

He literally did nothing. He lived on Gates' floor and got an 8% share in the company for doing nothing.

How can you not admire that?

This is even worse than the campaign situation, because MS themselves didn't create the campaign -- a separate company did.

The end story is we shouldn't be surprised. Companies use both all the time, especially in the marketing/media world. It's not a big deal, it's not like Photoshop doesn't run on Windows as well.

                That's just awesome pwnage.

I was waiting for you no-hopers to drive into that hole. Now your failure is complete.

Anyone with a clue knows that Apple isn't in the business of making mobile credit card terminals. So it would be impossible for them not to use someone else's. Nor do they lose by using them, since they just aren't in that market. This is about as surprising as if Dell were to make chairs in addition to PCs and Apple (who don't make chairs) bought some for its workers. "Oh noes", would say dopes everywhere, "Apple is bested because they don't use their own chairs... never mind that they don't make them").

On the other hand, Microsoft promotes its OS as a competitor to Apple's in production and desktop publishing. It would make sense for them to have their ad campaign produced by a company that believed in their product and hadn't chosen to use a competitor's product because they thought was better than Microsoft's crap.

So Apple uses a product from a competitor that does not compete with anything Apple itself makes or sells, whereas Microsoft has an advertisement to promote its product as superior which is made using the very product they are asserting superiority over.

                    You couldn't make it up.

And Microsoft isn't in the business of making ad campaigns. So they outsourced it, which you proceeded to then mock.

                      One word for you: Pathetic.

                        • But there is no argument? He just spouts bull**** incessantly.

He seems to think MS should choose its advertisers not based on qualifications or history but based upon what each individual computer user at the company uses as their OS. This is beside the fact that product they used to produce the images in the commercial was cross-platform, not Mac-specific. And all indication are the videos were edited in Premiere Pro, which is not available on Mac at all.

I don't know what else you can say to a person like this but personal attacks. There's no meat to the argument, and after a point the constant fountains of bull**** begin to become massively annoying.

How else would you describe Agathon's behaviour here? He's taking what appears to be a successful ad campaign and trying to discredit the message by looking at ****ing JPEG metadata and drawing conclusions from that. To say he's grasping at straws is an understatement, and the word I used was much more appropriate for his behaviour.

You can show a person is wrong without having to resort to insults.

I've done nothing but show he is wrong since December 2002. Look where that got us. He's out of control. If he keeps up this twisted logic at the pace he is going, the universe will implode.
