                • McCain now leads Obama outside the margin of error in the Gallup daily tracking poll.

John McCain has moved ahead of Barack Obama in the latest Gallup Poll Daily tracking, 48% to 45%, following last week’s Republican convention. This is McCain’s best showing since May.

This is the first Gallup poll that uses data solely from the days following Palin's convention speech. It looks like she did very well. McCain might gain even more in tomorrow's poll as the full effects of his convention speech are measured.

                        • McCain increased his lead in the Gallup daily tracking poll. He now leads Obama 49%-44% with the full effect of the Republican Convention taken into account.

John McCain's support among registered voters increased six percentage points from immediately before the GOP convention to immediately after. That convention bounce leaves him with a five-point lead over Barack Obama in the latest Gallup Poll Daily tracking update, 49% to 44%.

McCain also leads Obama by a whopping 10 points amongst likely voters in a separate USA Today/Gallup poll carried out over the weekend.

In the new poll, taken Friday through Sunday, McCain leads Obama by 54%-44% among those seen as most likely to vote. The survey of 1,022 adults, including 959 registered voters, has a margin of error of +/— 3 points for both samples.

                          America's craziness deepens.

You started whole threads on this sort of tripe, on multiple forums.

If this turns out to be true then McCain may have just shot himself in the foot. I don't want to break any site rules so I will simply link to the Apolyton thread which does have the links in question. ;) http://www.apolyton.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=5393457&t=7321#post5393457

In their defense, this is probably just a huge convention bounce that should fade away long before the election. Palin may have changed the face of the election, but I think it's more likely that Obama still has a significant edge.
