    What, specifically, is your point?
If the American media had really shown as much scrutiny upon Obama's past as you claim they have, surely they'd have gotten access to his college transcripts by now as they have for all the presidential candidates since 2000. They haven't, however, which casts doubt on your assertion of vigorous press investigation of Obama's past.

Judging by the few articles I've found on Obama's college days, the American media has done little more than restate Obama's own claims about that period in his life made in his two memoirs. There seems to have been very little independent inquiry into that area of Obama's life.

Which is likely due to the fact that he graduated Magna *** Laude at Harvard and was president of Harvard Law Review. That means it would be difficult to call his intelligence into question based on his grades, which ends up making it a non-story. Why are you going to expend resources chasing a story that won't make a splash?

So basically you're admitting that the American media hasn't looked into Obama's past as much as they have for previous presidential candidates, because there's no "story" there. Thanks.

For the record, no one has John McCain's Naval Academy transcripts either. The media hasn't focused it's attention on that particular aspect of either candidate's background in this election. That doesn't mean that their backgrounds haven't been scrutinized as much as in any other election, just that college grades don't seem to be of much interest in this round.

I'm not even American, let alone "right-wing". I just enjoy following the ludicrous American political process and laughing at the ridiculous intellectual positions Americans fool themselves into believing so they can support their preferred candidate.

As a former private-school student and current undergraduate at a prestigious American university, I know this is false.

Wow, a prestigious American university. And private secondary schools. Those are some credentials.

Your parents bought you an education, so you assume that it's the same for everyone else? Looks like you didn't take any kind of logic class at that school...

We don't know anything about Obama's academic ability before Harvard, since he won't release his transcripts.
He was faculty at the University of Chicago law school. I think that it's safe to say that he wasn't a C student.

If his grades are good we won't hear that they are bad.

A quick Google search reveals that he graduated 894 out of 899 in his class. It also reveals lots of interesting information about his personality in those years, like his lack of respect for authority and his reputation for being a troublemaker.

Ahead of Super Tuesday, Senator John McCain is leading Republican polls, a significant comeback for a campaign that appeared expired just six months ago. We speak to Reason Magazine editor Matt Welch, author of McCain: The Myth of a Maverick. [includes rush transcript]

We know far more about McCain's college days than we do about Obama's.

The thing is that those personality traits are things McCain admitted in his own memoirs. He is the source for that information. Whether it's being repeated by a journalist or not, if you want to qualify that as information obtained by media research, you have to do the same for stuff in Barack Obama's memoirs.

Obama doesn't reveal much of anything about his time in college in his memoirs or his own speeches, which makes the lack of media interest in that part of his history even more inexplicable.

There are at least two versions of Barack Obama's life: There's his version—the story he tells in his speeches, op-eds, and books. Then there's the med ...

I think the mistake that you're making is in assuming that because we haven't heard anything about it means that they haven't looked into it. The one thing the US media is exceptionally good at is looking for dirt. The thing is, when they don't find anything, they don't publish anything. I don't see a huge public outcry out there for information about Obama's college life if it's not interesting.

Wow, how is an idiot like you going to survive in the real world? You have absolutely no reason skills. You don't seem to know much either. You can't run for president, you know. I guess you can go back to China, be a boss for some company and have one of your employees stab you for corruption and incompetence.
