True, but it's not going to convince independents who hate Bush. They probably will pick up on the message if they watch the RNC.

Half the reason for liking McCain is to get Cindy as First Lady. I'm watching her life story, WoW.

I'd like it more if they lost and both Cindy McCain and Sarah Palin got shot out the bottom of the porn industry in 2 years time.

Cindy McCain is a lame speaker. I have to say Michelle was much better. Even the repugs don't seem too impressed really.

All the speakers at this convention are notably worse than the speakers at the DNC. McCain has a lot of pressure on him.

There's democrats and republicans. Names and faces change, everything else stays the same. I'm not gonna bother with it.

Your electoral system would be less of a joke if voting was (1) compulsory and (2) a preferential voting system was introduced. Preferential voting means people vote like so
                      1- Bob Candidate
                      2- Sally Candidate
                      3-Devil Man Candidate

Thus your primary vote goes to Bob Candidate. BUT, if Bob Candidate gets only 5% of the vote and no one else's primary vote is over 50%, your vote 'flows on' to Sally.
Often there are many candidates running for a single seat. In Australia, each party has its own 'how to vote' card, and voters, if so inclined, simply take the card and preference candidates according to the party they're voting for.
This allows independents and third party candidates a much better chance of running and winning elections, because voters will no longer feel that their vote is 'wasted' by voting for the 3rd party candidate.
Compulsory voting and Preferential Voting System. DO IT NOW AMERIKA11111oneone and so forth.

Compulsory voting. We need another law, especially another stupid law.

How dare you demand that citizens be forced to do something as important as voting! Its my right as a citizen to not carry out any of my duties as citizen, as long as all my privilages as a citizen are maintained!

This would help the pre2000 elections. I don't see how it would help the current mess.

Compulsory voting would help better reflect the opinions of the American people. Voting is a duty of citizenship. If people don't vote, it puts doubt into the basis of the system. If people can't vote for the candidate they want to vote for because the system doesn't allow it, it harms their faith in the system. In short, the system better reflects the political leanings of its citizens, which translates to a system that more people put trust in.

Preferential voting is a good idea. People could vote for 3rd party candidates without worrying that their vote has just been wasted.

Compulsory voting is not. At best you'd just introduce random noise into the process and waste a lot of people's time. At worst it would be a single issue that decided at least one election cycle... that being to boot everyone out who supports compulsory voting.
