Lancer, when the Walter Reed scandal broke, Obama was one of the two Senators who drafted the bill to fix the problems. He also championed the new GI Bill (which McCain opposed). And currently, Obama is ahead of McCain in contributions from active military personnel by a 6:1 ratio. So, the G.I.s are voting with the paychecks.
