I heard about that. It doesn't seem like all that bad of an answer, and it's at least a somewhat artful dodge, unlike that wooden cliche Kerry tried to foist off on the Pro-Life movement during the debates. I think even if I were Pro-Choice I'd have wanted to reach into the TV and pimp-smack him for that.

Then again, maybe the way Obama made the pay grade remark was obnoxious. I didn't watch that discussion or whatever it was called.

The "pay grade" thing is clearly a dodge. The meaning of that statement is it's up to the individual conscience and doctor, which is an acceptably pro-choice answer. It's hard to blame him for being so oblique in front of an audience that gave Kerry ~15% of their vote...

An interesting thing is that while the religious 'white' folks are generally very anti-abortion, the religious 'black' folks are very pro-abortion.

This was a bit surprising to me, when I first ran across it in the last couple of years (I currently attend a 'black' church).

1) His vote for FISA. It seemed to me (and many others) that he and other dems were caving in to Republican demands, which was odd considering how weak the Repug brand was atm. I can only assume special interests were involved.

2) His campaign letting some juicy attack moments slide by. Phil Graham's "a nation of whiners" was one.

Others, but all in all still far superior to anything McCain'08/Bush #3 can offer.

I hate the fact that he supports embryonic stem cell research, and I hate the fact that he was the founder of the Gang of 14 deal.

As far as I see it, Obama is left of McCain, and McCain is left of me, so McCain is the one I support.

I don't support either of them because the're both liars. Research has shown that frequent liars are often manipulative and Machiavellian. People with several psychological disorders also often lie.

Yeah, but think of the sound byte. If the McCain campaign doesn't put that in an attack ad, I'll eat my left foot. I just think there were infinitely better ways to address that question.
