That certainly appeared to be an evil deed and if it is proven to have been such then whoever is behind it should stand trial for war crimes. There is also the question of whether and how the war was provoked, and how it was fought on both sides.

Lest we forget, it was Georgian aggression, not Russian, that started this fight.

I know that there had been intense fighting in the area in the days prior to the outbreak of war started by SO troops. That wouldn't have happened without the OK from Putin.

The problem with you is that you can't tell Russian soldier from Ossetian militia (and yeah, Ossetian military is mostly militia, but they have tanks).

There were provocations from Georgian side within at least one year. Saak promised that he will solve Ossetian and Abkhzian question to its electorate. He was the only one who was interested in this war.
