English food or drink is never good.
"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

False. For all their faults (and I do like some English food, such as Shepard's Pie and whatnot), they make some good beer.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Not so. There are excellent English beers, cheeses, and baked goods.

Chinese Pie is superior to Shepard's Pie.

Chicken Pot Pies are awful. I have many horrid memories of those.

Well, you can't tell the difference under the sugar...just like you can't detect subtle flavors of anything under whatever it is they do to screw up industry-made wine.

BTW, I believe they do ferment the stuff, even if they add more sugar later than they lost to the yeast. So remove that "literally." Boux-y'a, as the French in France say.

                          And here's the Nyetimber.

I get nearly all my wine from Waitrose- the only other dealer I use is Bennetts when feeling rich.

A 400 year old wine is served here at some royal gala dinners. It is mixed with regular vintage wines - and little bowls of sugar have their place next to each glass.

Give me a bottle of "Two Buck Chuck" merlot, and I'm a happy guy.
