    Well, Bismarck symbolises not only the unification of Germany, but also german imperialism, that's one. Secondly, it's about Lorraine and Alsace mostly, because they are french now.

            Meh, Bismark unified German-speaking lands then stopped and tried to maintain that status, unlike certain other German leaders.

                  Do Austrians really speak German though? As far as I could tell it was incomprehensible... then again Bavaria was in, so .

                      I was trying to make a joke (Though, I had an easier time understaning Southerners in the states than in Germany (granted my English is better)... I also had an easier time understanding the Dutch.)
