Yeah, they're lucky that bush can't run for another term since they'd probably figure out a way to lose AGAIN.

They can't help that so many Americans are so stupid they vote for Bush a second time.

I'd rather blame idiocy (or perhaps ignorance, I'll be lenient on that ) than the democrats. And that's from an external neutral viewpoint

I always blame the democrats since "how hard was it to find a candidate better than bush." Obviously it's not hard, but they never seem to be able to do it.

You can blame stupid americans if the democrats ever put up a good candidate.

I am actually going to vote opposite my normal voting strategy this time. Normally I vote for whichever candidate will make for a better Halloween mask, but this time I'm going to go with McCain. Hopefully his VP will make for a good one.

Interesting. The confidence of Obama's supporters is certainly one of the more noteworthy features of this campaign.

Most reasonable people who actually do the electoral math know that it is still quite a fight for eithier candidate. While Obama does appear to have a slight lead in that area, it is really to early to draw any conclusions at this point.

Obama obviously sees this truth in beaking his pledge to use public financing for the campaign. He knows he will need his full war chest to try to make this happen for him.

IMHO, McCain is now at his high point.

                        (1) McCain has been able to blast Obama from the sidelines while Obama and Clinton wrestled with each other. Now, Mac's free pass is over.

                        (2) Obama has a ton of money McCain does not.

                        (3) Obama has the core Dems behind him. McCain lacks the full support of the Repub core.

                        (4) McCain's best issue is evaporating as the war in Iraq goes better.

                        (5) As the economy crumbles, McCain's remedy is to call for more tax cuts for the richest Americans.

                        (6) The more Americans see of Obama, the better they like him. And as the campaign goes on, they'll be seeing more of him.

Actually Obama peaked early in the primary season. The more people see of him, the less perfect he looks. If the primary season had been longer (lord knows if that was even possible) Hillary probably could have taken him.

So I think your #6 is really the more americans see of obama, the less they'll like him.

Pretty much. Once I found out he was a secret muslim I was put off immediately.

Not to mention that the RNC is cash flush, while the DNC is strapped right now.

How does this work? Since McCain's position on Iraq is looking better he looks worse on the issue?
