The answer is yes, it can happen in two ways:

    1. alliance against a common enemy
    2. alliance where the big country shuts the little country the f*** up, and then tells it to be a quiet little vassal

France and Italy are both Chatolic. Not the same nation.

Mexico and Venezuela are both mostly chatolic countries and share a language (Spanish). They are not the same nation.

Do I need to go on?

        • I just had an idea! What if give both of the countries back to the Turks! That way there would be no problem with naming them.

Greece is an ally of Turkey, is it not?

              • There is no concept of "minority" in Greece, what with Greece being 99% Greek while having a million non-Greeks.

                    4. Slovenia?!
                    5. Russia
                    6. Hungary
                    7. Serbia
                    8. Croatia
                    9. Poland

How the hell are we on number 4? We have one border dispute with one of our neighbours (incidentaly its Croatia), we have two recongised and protected minorities, with barley 80% of our population considering itself Slovenian.

We are not perfect but to put us three spots over Serbs and one spot over Russia is just a bit too much. I mean have you met Serb? Croatia has border issues with all of its neighburing countries: Slovenia, Serbia and Hungary. Note how they are all above Croatia in the petty nationalism list.

In any case its hard to make a case for petty nationalism withot a history of petty nationalistic wars.

Also I find the whol putting Greece on the first spot thing waaaay to harsh.

And lastly if you live in a developed countries you aren't nationalistic you are patriotic.

                    Quality of life

                    High Income Countries

                    Patriotic:

                    25 France
                    26 Germany
                    27 Slovenia
                    28 Malta
                    29 United Kingdom
                    30 South Korea

                    Nationalisitic:

                    48 Poland
                    49 Croatia
                    50 Turkey
                    51 Trinidad and Tobago
                    52 Ecuador

                    See?

I suppose I now have to stop arguing against Greece since they are higher on the list than us? Well that is only true if they have a recognised and protected minorities like us.

Is this true MarkG? You don't have any recognised minorities?

I agree with you, but hey those are the standings, if you don't like them take them up with the commitee, not me. I think using the EU presidency to advance petty nationalist goals got you quite a few points

What? If there's anything that's correct on that list it's that they're the undisputed world champion.
