That sucks, man. Is that insurance job still open?
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

      Sorry to hear that.

Ouch. That bites down hard. I hope you can find something else soon.

Definitely remember COBRA, that's quite useful in cases like this (new kid and such).

Unless you have a chronic pre-condition, or suffer a catestrophic accident, COBRA isn't worth it. The expense alone will send you to the doctor's.

                      Not until next year.

Yes, we moved across country for another job, which I quit to take the one that just laid me off.

I haven't had time for patents, but maybe now is a good time.

COBRA is covered by company until end of July, but we are expecting a new child (boy by the way) in September.

Anyway, thanks for all the well wishes.

                        Isn't pregnancy considered a pre-existing condition?

This is good. There is a study showing that graduates with an MBA during an economic downturn will likely net you significantly less money over your entire lifetime.

Good luck Japher. Just remember to keep a positive outlook and get those resumes out there.

Cobra costs are high, but you NEED to have insureance for a preggers wifey. You'll have no chance of getting coverage on her pre-existing "condition" if it lapses.

Aren't insurers forbidden from making decisions based on pregnancy?
