I can't speak to that specific issue, but I know from personal experience that, in general, if it isn't a direct transfer between insurers, it's a royal pain in the butt to get accepted. COBRA sucks ($$$), so it's best to try and get that lined up now, while he's still covered.

As long as we maintain insurance on her during the pregnancy and can show that she has been going to her doctor on a regular schedule the insurance issue won't be a bother. We've had this issue before. I will probably just carry the COBRA, even if just for another month or 2 until after the baby is born.
let me get this right, if you are pregnant and you lose your job, it's possible that you don't get to be looked after.
Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

I've got two job interviews in the works. Both established through my network, LinkedIn contacts.
One is the week after next. I met the guys from this company at a Project Management training which was really team oriented. Turns out one of the guys in my team is the hiring manager and thought I was worthy enough to interview. It's a process/project engineering job with a privately held chemical company.
The other one is through a friend at school. It's a Project Manager job at a local contract pharmaceutical company. I had the phone interview 3 weeks ago, and my friend informed me a week and a half ago that they wanted to bring me in for an interview either next week or the week after, but that the hiring manager was out of town last week so I wouldn't hear anything until this coming week. I am going to call the hiring manager Monday.
Either than that I've been struggling with the unemployment application. Something seems to be wrong with my SSN, my last name is sometimes spelled as one word and sometimes as two, and they don't seem to like my part-time student status. I hate dealing with them and I hope I just get another job and can ignore the whole issue.
It's really no good working for an old schoolmate. I let that one pass.
Anyway, good luck! Hope you get something soon!

"Capitalism ho!"
Well, I had one interview with the chemical company mentioned above. It's been two weeks and I haven't heard anything. I sent an e-mail to the hiring manager 2 days ago, and still haven't heard anything.
I will be interviewing for the PM job mentioned above on Monday. I really, really want that job and hope I do good. It's a full day of interviewing, so I guess that's a good sign. I want the position, because I would really like to get out of engineering.
I also had a phone interview last week with a HR screener for another company, and they told me I would hear from them this week. I e-mailed them on Wednesday, and still haven't heard back... seems to be the trend.
