I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Sorry to hear that."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "

Ouch. That bites down hard. I hope you can find something else soon.Libraries are state sanctioned, so they're technically engaged in privateering. - Felch

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

Yes, we moved across country for another job, which I quit to take the one that just laid me off.
I haven't had time for patents, but maybe now is a good time.
COBRA is covered by company until end of July, but we are expecting a new child (boy by the way) in September.
Anyway, thanks for all the well wishes.

Good luck Japher. Just remember to keep a positive outlook and get those resumes out there.“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”

That sucks, but at least you are "one of many" that got kicked - looks a little better on the CV.With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Cobra costs are high, but you NEED to have insureance for a preggers wifey. You'll have no chance of getting coverage on her pre-existing "condition" if it lapses.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011
