  • well according to the Alexia Charts we are still on the map, just under 1 million daily Page views/million.

considering some sites are not even on this list, and also considering our outdated software and everything else mentioned above, this is actually an impressive testament to the strength of character this site has and also the loyalty of the longtime members.

Also it seems CFC has taken a HUGE hit since early march and has not recovered.

interesting numbers, and i am positive we will comeback strong in the future

We know, the authorities have been pursuing a strange hairy creature that was terrorizing the moors, and have been mum regarding press enquiries about the possible origin of this creature in military experiments.

      • I think the name is an issue. SERIOUSLY.

I love it dearly. But I think going back to Ultimate Civ site or the like would be better. Imagine being a newbie and seeing Civfanatics or Apolyton in your list. Which would you go to first?

        • If you google civilization 4 you get official sites, big game sites and wikipedia on the first page but you also get:

Civilization Fanatics' Center: Fanatical Coverage of the ...

Civilization IV on Apolyton Civilization Site - News

And that Apolyton one is a link to civilization.net. Personally I think the name is a non issue.

Well, it helps that I don't visit these boards daily. I think last Friday was the first time that week.

Also, did anybody expect differently from Asher?

I mean, the guy amuses me, but.

Well, it depends. From what I remember of Asher's own photographs, he was somewhat photogenic.

As far as Locutus, I'm not sure I'm a fan of Borg protrusions.

I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

                  • It's back to monday, and time to get back on topic.

After a few discussions with ASHER the last few days, he has agreed to let me post this from a PM

                    ASHER STATED
"I acknowledge Locutus issued an apology, and I am sorry I was an ass."
With agreement from the others, I have decided to release ASHER from his ban now. As soon as I remember how to do it. Banning is much easier

This incident has generated a lot of discussion here and behind closed doors that has been really informative.
So much so that even after a few days and everyone gets a chance to review what's in this thread and we un top it and it falls out of sight, we have decided that there will be a topped thread in the OT to discuss things important mainly to the OT.

Yeah, it may be our living room but as was pointed out by many of you, our guests input about the environment is very important. We're working out the details on just what that topped thread's limitations and restriction will be, and we'll probably ask for input on that.

ALSO a big topic of discussion the last few days has been rules, discipline, and punishments. The new thread will be a place to discuss these items also.
It is time that this was done in the open. And no, it's not going to be kangaroo court type thing, but we may look for some involvement.

A NEW FAQ came out in conjunction with the Forum restructering. We think we've covered most of the issues on what's allowed and what's not. Please read it because that's the standard we're going to use. As with any rules, we can't cover every single contingency. We don't want to be lawyers to determine the gray areas when some posters intentionally try to push the limits.

If I had to sum it up quickly.

Don't insult people directly. Minor flaming is allowed but this isn't a license to spew insults.

COMMON SENSE. This is our community and if you make someone so unwelcome that they want to leave, maybe it's you that should leave.

MOST IMPORTANT. If you do slip and a mod steps in and tells you to chill or stop what you're doing, PLEASE follow the wishes. If not, it's like mouthing off to the officer that just pulled you over. No good can come from it. Yeah, we may make some mistakes, but it's best to solve those with a few CIVIL pms. I have changed my mind on occasion.

Punishments will be like before but I'd like to emphasis that the duration of punishments CAN/WILL be modified based on the previous History of the poster.

Repeat offenders will be treated more harshly. If those methods are not successful, we'll try harsher. While no one likes to discuss permabans, they have to available for when nothing else seems to work. There a few posters here who's name comes up when we discuss that type of thing.

We're really interested on how the rest of the community views this type of thing, and it will be one of the topics open for discussion in our community thread.

We're also looking for NAME for our community topped thread. We're open to suggestions.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

                        Just kidding

                        How about just: "Apolyton Community-Discussion"?

And I know I said it before but I think it's really great that Rah started this thread and got the discussion going.
