Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

I joke around alot I know, but this stuff can become an addiction, where everything someone says has a sexual connotation. Nothing is as frustrating as having a conversation with someone in which every sentence has to be considered for how it might be intentionally misconstrued along a sexual bias. It makes a person one dimentional. They become some sort of wierdness addict, and are better avoided, at least that's how I deal with it.

You see Laz, I shall quote you dear Mod-greater-than-I [q=Lazarus and the Gimp]Gramps, dear heart- to blinker oneself to the shattering impact that the urges of the loins have had on the world's history is like fitting trousers to the legs of your furniture to avoid inflaming animal lusts. Laughable and pointless.
"Filth" articles are cheerfully packed full of rude stuff, but also contain a core of hard history. I write them because people like them. If it's going to offend you, be reassured that this thread is the one to avoid. Therefore I respectfully ask you to take your displeasure elsewhere.[/q]
I understand a Living room is just that, belonging to someone else.
However, shouldnt the owners also require their personal staff such as the maid and the butler to also act with same standards as the guests are asked to abide be.
This is just another example I think should be reviewed.
yes, the living room has its own standards, but I would beseechthee to look upon each case and judge accordingly.
I personally want to say this thread has served great purpose.
Healing is often accomplished, in whole or in part, by allowing venting/expressing.
I have a sense of humor, hence the name Alexander Horse hung on me many, many moons ago, "Troll"
I mean no harm to Ming when i am picking on him.
I mean no harm to anyone.
I enjoy Poly
I do not agree with all decisions nor do I have to.
I have left Apolyton on a couple occasions because I felt wrong feelings and was starting to get Pissed off at some in charge.
Whether or not those people care/dont care is of minimal concern to this country boy.
What matters is my handling of my emotions and rebuttals.
I sure wish we could all come to a center point and sit cross legged in a circle and smoke the peace pipe, so to speak.
Perhaps the important issue I have and many do as well is not the intervention by Mods or ownership but the seemingly harsh addressing by those toward its membership.
Ok, I am certainly not perfect nor have I said so.
I will say me and Ming had some very intense conversation and am not sharing a secret but he did point out to me one thing I was overlooking:
How I felt he addressed me well, I responded as Sun Tzu suggested in The Art of War...When outnumbered, retreat, when in superior number attack.
I took the latter approach and for the very reason I was heated with him, I chose that road and was wrong.
I have since apologized.
I would ask all to look upon their own heart.
No way what has been said or done can be called back like the arrow that was launched or the bullet that has been fired.
But how about this:
First we or I would say thanks for this thread to be possible and specifically rah who started it. Whether he or anyone else (on wondership of this living room) approved, coaches or agrees/disagrees with what rah has done, we all must at least recognize the efforts put forth.
Heck, I have kinda skirted with thread jacking with humor but not in a malicious way, I handle pressure through humor.
Plus in almost constant pain eagerly awaiting my surgery upcoming, I am sometimes a little out of it.
Do you fellow posters feel we can move forward?
Will the Staff/ownership listen to what is asked for by the masses?
Who knows?
But some things are changing, perhaps more will change in the future. I do hope so!
What if the ownership sent out a questionaire to those who they know are missing, brutally honest in asking why they left or what would help their possible return?
I know in business we do this when we have been fired by a contractor, and of course sometimes, we just cant reach a common ground, but we do try.....
Ok
This has been a nice thread and hopefully we all can grow from its intended usage and purpose!
Fantastic Post Gramps. You are most definantely both "Immortal" and "Sage"
"I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration." - Hillary Clinton, 2003
I have joked about this for a long time, but in the root of it all i was being deathly serious:
MarkG needs to become an Admin again. Quite frankly when he stepped down this site took a nose dive and never recovered. MarkG was the glue between order on the boards, and the balance to handle every major decision that was necessary.
The days of MarkG as Co-Owner of Poly were my Poly birth days. Yes a lot of it had to do with the fanatic love for Civ 2, but MarkG is an experienced programmer, DanQ is not. Other staff was hired to try to replace Markos (3 or more) but it never really had the respect of effect that MarkG had on this website.
Without MarkG this would not be Apolyton, this would be DanQ's Ultimate Civ or whatever.
MarkG is the man, and while without him at the helm we have survived, WITH him we would have prospered.
I mean no disrespect to DanQ, as all he has done for me personally, but MarkG, quite honestly is better at running this website.
