    Really that is such a poor excuse for an article. 30 year old childhood experiences inform political opinion on todays world. No you had it right. It was the title. Obama is a qualified world expert. That was Newsweek's intent. The is he "too informed" angle was simply cover to attempt a facade of neutrality.

            Nah, but that's certainly an interesting connection.

            The joke is that we would like to think that the smartest among us, the deepest thinkers, the most accomplished people are the best presidents and candidates for highest office. Yet the two most accomplished real intellectuals that I can think of who were associated with high office in the 20th century in the US were thought of as failures at the craft.

            Given this, when judging whether a candidate is the right person for the job, I think it's just fine for voters to look toward other factors when judging who will be good in higher office.

                  This is why you see in all the puff pieces the fact that McCain turned down special treatment while interned in the Hanoi Hilton. And it's why you see stories about his son, who is enlisted in the Marines.


                  I'm not saying that he's not a decent enough person (albeit with some bat**** crazy politics). But saying that of the three candidates, Obama is the most representative of the socio-economic elite is absurd.

                    "Elitist" is merely an acceptable way to say he's arrogant. Why you think it fruitful to parse who's more elite than the other is beyond me. Many of our recent president have been part of the elite -- it is by no means a bar to higher office.

                          A couple other polls of PA don't show Obama down by nearly as much as in the ARG poll.

                          • Quinnipiac University Polling Institute -- No change in Pa. poll numbers for Clinton & Obama: This week's Quinnipiac poll of 2,103 "likely" Democratic voters in Pennsylvania shows Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton leading Sen. Barack Obama 50%-44%, unchanged from a week earlier. The polling was done from Wednesday through Sunday, so part of it came after the news broke Friday that Obama had said some small-town voters are "bitter" about the direction the nation is headed. Quinnipiac says there was no noticeable change in voters' attitudes in the polling it did on Saturday and Sunday compared to previous days. There is a 2.1 percentage point margin of error on each of the results. As always, bear in mind that polls are snapshots of current public opinion and that even though there is only one week left before Pennsylvania's primary, a lot could change. (Yesterday, an American Research Group poll gave Clinton a 20-point advantage in Pennsylvania.)

                            Is Pennsylvannia a winner take all state or do they divy up the delegates? Does anyone know which states remaining are winner take all and which divy up the delegates?
